Total Voice provides free, independent and confidential advocacy services in Lincolnshire.
Advocacy and self advocacy can be vital for people who can not speak up for themselves, or people who feel that they do not have the power to do so.
Our multi-skilled advocates carry out all elements of statutory and community advocacy to individuals over the age of 16, who may have mental health issues, learning disabilities, physical disabilities or visual impairments.
Supporting people who have been detained under sections of the Mental Health Act, or under a Community Treatment Order, we work with individuals to help them understand their rights and receive the treatment that’s right for them.
Our advocates will assess any potential case, but issues we regularly become involved with are:
We work with people who have been assessed as lacking capacity and do not have family or friends who are appropriate to consult. Our advocates will become involved with any cases that involve decisions around serious medical treatment or changes in long term accommodation.
Our advocates also be contacted where there are questions concerning safeguarding or care reviews.
If you have queries around DoLs (Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards), including paid representative duties, you can also access this service.
Find out more about Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy or DoLs in our dedicated IMCA section. Here you can find our referral forms and details of how to make a referral.

3 Community AdvocacyThere are many people who have decisions to make and don’t feel as if they are being listened to, or who don’t feel confident raising the issues themselves.
We support these people to be involved in the decision making process, or we signpost them to the service who can best meet their needs.
I have scored the advocacy service I received 10 out of 10 because of the level of help, advice and support I received from my advocate
