Our IMCA service operates in Barnsley. Our advocates have a key role in reviewing how the service is progressing, monitoring the affects that it has on patients lives.
Our role is not just to work with clients on their issues, but ensure that people around Barnsley know about the service. Already, over the past year the IMCA team have taken part in 127 sessions with care homes, social work teams, hospital staff groups.

The assessment must be specific to the decision which needs to be made, for example, not a generic test of capacity. Whether and how such assessments are recorded may vary according to the seriousness of the decision made.
