2015 - VoiceAbility Impact

2015 was an exciting, challenging and successful year.

We introduced advocacy under the Care Act, rose up to meet the needs of an increased number of people and developed a range of training and guidance to enhance the quality and effectiveness of our services.

Are you getting the support you need?

More people than ever before are acting as unpaid carers to family or friends. All carers are entitled to a timely assessment of their needs. And those who need one should receive support from an advocate. We know that this is, in many cases, not happening.

7 Days of Action for people trapped in in-patient settings

​3,000 people with learning disabilities are living in emergency care hospitals called Assessment and Treatment Units. For many reasons, people have been living in placements that feel like prisons to them for years.

#7daysofaction was set up by parents to raise awareness of the situation.

It’s time. Time to listen. Time to educate. Time to act.
