Director of Operations - closing date 25th Sept 2017VoiceAbility's mission is to strengthen voice, support rights and change lives. We put the people we work with at the heart of our organisation. Last year we supported 30,000 people, which makes us one of the largest providers of advocacy and user participation services in the UK. We have a turnover of c£8.5m, employing 300 staff across England. Our services range from one to one independent advocacy to innovative peer led mentoring and support.

In view of the increasingly challenging environment for people who use social care and long-term health services, we want to achieve more. Our strategy sets our direction to improve what we do, deliver greater social impact and operate more productively and effectively. Our focus is on driving sustainability and on developing new service directions.

We now need a progressive Director of Operations to ensure that we deliver leading edge, consistently high quality support which provides increasing social impact and to drive an ambitious programme of service development. A central member of our Executive Management Team, Our Director of Operations ensures that we maintain focus and energy on delivering our strategic objectives.

We're an ambitious organisation, so this post needs to be filled by someone who isn't phased by multiple demands, but instead sees this as an opportunity to identify where the greatest difference can be made and then to lead that change.

We are looking for a quality-driven and commercially astute senior operations professional, with a track record in effective service delivery and development and a strong performance management focus, who is able to measure and evaluate the impact of our services. You will be an inspirational leader, able to give focus and direction to your team and expert in developing key relationships with commissioners, partners, people who use our services and members of staff. Alongside your operational expertise you will be absolutely in tune with our values and mission, keen to share in collective responsibility for the overall leadership of the organisation and want to work with the people who we support to strengthen service performance and drive new service development. You are likely to have experience in social care, health, housing support or similar within a charity or social enterprise and to have worked in a public sector commissioned environment.
