We offer Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy (IMCA) support for Barnet, Enfield and Haringey residents.

You can get support for yourself, a friend or family member by calling us or emailing us. You don't have to use a referral form.

If you are a health or social care professionals who would like to refer someone for advocacy, please use the form below. If you are not sure what kind of advocacy you need to request, download the overview of eligibility below, or call us or email us, we will be very happy to advise.

If you have been assessed as ‘lacking capacity’ to make specific decisions you may be able to get an advocate.

Social care teams in the local authority have a duty to make sure that people are fully involved in understanding and making decisions about the care and support they need.  For people who will find it very hard to be fully involved in the care process, independent advocacy is available.
