Challenge Poverty Week 7 - 13 October 2024

Challenge Poverty Week was launched in 2013 to highlight the injustice of poverty in Scotland, and to show that collective action based on justice and compassion can create solutions.

What is the week about?

Every day of Challenge Poverty Week 2024, the Poverty Alliance are hosting a breakfast briefing on a number of issues. Learn from a range of excellent speakers including Citizens Advice Scotland, Eildon Housing Association, IPPR, Magic Breakfast, SCVO, Shelter Scotland, The Robertson Trust and many others.

The Poverty Alliance have provided an overview of this year's policy priorities, developed with a short-life working group.

What are the daily themes?

  • Housing — Monday 7 October 9:00am-9:45am
  • Transport — Tuesday 8 October 9:30am-10:15am
  • Adequate incomes — Wednesday 9 October 9:30am-10:15am
  • Food — Thursday 10 October 9:30am-10:15am
  • Communities and Volunteers — Friday 11 October 9:30am-10:15am
