Celebrating our volunteers as Volunteers’ Week marks 40 years
Chief Executive Jonathan Senker reflects on the ever-increasing role volunteers are playing at VoiceAbility and says a big thank you.
Today (Monday) marks the start of Volunteers' Week, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.
This is the biggest event of the year for many voluntary organisations and a great opportunity to thank our valued volunteers.
This year, VoiceAbility has welcomed more volunteers than ever before. We can see the benefits our volunteers bring to their communities. However, we wanted to share that knowledge and appreciation. From Connections volunteers doing work with their peers to the volunteers attending events and spreading the word about our services, to the volunteers supporting with general advocacy, as well as so many other roles, we cannot possibly mention them all.
