VoiceAbility’s Annual Report for 2023-2024 is here!

17 October 2024

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s VoiceAbility launching our Annual Report for 2023-2024.

Putting people first is at the heart of what we do, that’s why this year’s report contains more stories, statistics and pictures of our fantastic clients and advocates than ever before.

What’s more, our impact has grown — we opened 22% more cases this year, translating to us supporting just over 35,000 people.

We also wanted to tell you more about us. Our report contains our organisational story to give you more insight about the values that drive our work, and comments from our advocates about why they love what they do.

Advocate Charis said: Individuals detained under the Mental Health Act are some of the most restricted individuals we work with.

It is rewarding to support clients to gain confidence to speak up about their care and treatment and be treated as individuals rather than mental health patients.

By empowering our clients to be able to discuss their treatment and discharge plan, we give them the tools to advocate for themselves.

It’s no coincidence we’ve chosen to share this report during Advocacy Awareness Week, which for 2024 has impact of advocacy’ as its theme. Making a positive impact is critical to our work.

Our Operations Director, Louise Abbs, has made a short video to tell you more about our Annual Report and the positive impact of our work.

You can read our 2023-2024 Annual Report on our website, where you can also find our plain English version.

Throughout Advocacy Awareness Week we’re talking about the impact of advocacy, so please do get involved by liking, sharing and commenting via our social media channels. You can do this by following us on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter (X) and LinkedIn, and subscribing to our YouTube channel.
