VoiceAbility backs call for pre-legislative scrutiny of Bill of Rights
VoiceAbility joins Liberty and a broad coalition of 150 organisations from across civil society to call on the Government to provide pre-legislative scrutiny of the proposed Bill of Rights.
We stand with other human rights organisations, law centres, religious groups, trade unions, and the Children’s Commissioners for Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland among many other signatories in in calling for pre-legislative scrutiny of such important constitutional proposals.
As highlighted by the Joint Committee on Human Rights, Justice Committee, Lords Constitution Committee, and Public Administration and Constitutional Affairs Committee, the proposals set out in the Bill of Rights are of “supreme constitutional significance and have the potential to impact on the rights of individuals for many years to come.”
