Our services in Wolverhampton Families First Pathfinder

We provide the following services:

  • The Families First Pathfinder in Wolverhampton
    What’s this?

This is for parents whose children are going through the child protection process

How does the service work?

The parent advocate can support you to:

  • have your voice heard
  • take part in the decisions being made about your child
  • ask the social worker any questions you may have about why the local authority are concerned about your child’s safety, if you don’t feel able to ask for yourself
  • prepare for meetings with social workers and other professionals
  • speak up and put your point of view across at child protection conferences and core group meetings
  • be fully involved when plans are being made about your child
  • feel empowered and more confident to participate
  • make appropriate challenges if you disagree with what the social worker or other professionals are saying
  • remember what was said and agreed at a meeting or what you are being asked to do, so you can plan what to do next
  • find or access legal advice
  • request reasonable adjustments for the meetings
