Supporting Speak Out leaders and volunteers to get involved in groups, working on issues that affect people with learning disabilities and autistic people.
What does a Speak Out Hampshire peer volunteer do?
As a Speak Out Hampshire peer volunteer, you might:
- promote VoiceAbility in the community, telling people what we do
- support at local Speak Out meetings
- one-to-one support for people to prepare for meetings
- assist with travel
- community events
- co-production of events with other parts of the community

This role is available in:
- Romsey
- Farnborough
What skills will I need?
We are looking for people who have any of these skills:
- good communication skills
- empathy and patience
- an interest in Advocacy
- ability to work independently
- a commitment to the values of VoiceAbility
What support can I expect from VoiceAbility?
- support from a Speak Out Facilitator
- volunteer induction training along with specific training for the role you choose - there are further training opportunities available
- the opportunity to make positive change with people we support
- a chance to meet new people and learn new skills
- regular catch ups and support from the speak out facilitator
- the equipment needed to support your role
- reimbursement of expenses and travel costs in line with VoiceAbility’s policy
- a reference after completing six months of volunteering
